Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Plumbline Workspace (the Windows and Android apps, and this website) collects, why, and what you can do about it. Plumbline Workspace is made and sold by Plumblines Tech (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- Your documents never leave your device. Files you open, edit or create in Plumbline stay where you keep them. We can't see them.
- To check your licence, the app sends our licence server a random device id, a device name, your licence key and — on Android — your Google Play purchase token.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
What we collect and why
Licensing
- Device id — a random identifier created by the app on first run. Used to count devices on a key and to give one free trial per device.
- Device name and platform (for example “DESKTOP-4F2K” and “Windows”) — so you can tell your devices apart when you manage your key.
- Licence key, and the dates your trial or licence started and ends.
- Google Play purchase token (Android subscriptions) — to confirm the subscription with Google and link it to your Plumbline key.
- Purchase email (Windows) — Lemon Squeezy tells our server the email used to buy a key; the app shows it in the Licence window.
We keep the device list for as long as the key exists, so you can manage it. Trial records are kept so a trial can't be restarted.
Messages you send us
When you use the “Questions?” form in the app or on this website, we receive your message, topic, the email and name you enter, the app version, platform, a short description of your licence and your device id. We use it only to answer you. Messages are emailed to our support inbox and kept on the server for 90 days.
Technical logs
Like any website, our server provider briefly processes your IP address to deliver requests and stop abuse. We keep a 90-day log of licence events (such as a refund or a removed device) with keys shortened so they can't be used.
Optional AI features
On Windows, the AI assistant runs on your own computer by default. If you choose to connect an external AI service in Settings, the text you send to the assistant goes to that service under its own privacy policy. We never receive it.
Who processes information for us
- Cloudflare — hosts our licence server and this website.
- Lemon Squeezy — sells Windows licences as the merchant of record (payments, invoices, taxes). Your payment details go to them, not us.
- Google — handles Android subscriptions through Google Play.
- Resend — delivers your support messages to our inbox.
These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States.
Your choices and rights
- Remove a device from your key at any time on Manage my key or in the app.
- You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (deleting a key's records ends that licence on our side). Use the support form and we'll respond within 30 days.
- If you're in Canada you also have rights under PIPEDA, and you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Plumbline Workspace is a general productivity app and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
